As part of the Bio Industry Association parliament day, twig represented the growing engineering biology sector, meeting with MPs, Government advisors and members of the House of Lords.
Our CEO, Russ Tucker, raised the importance of innovation-friendly policy and the potential for the UK to position itself as a leader within industrial biotech. Meeting with several senior members of Government, including the Chief Scientific Advisor to DEFRA, Professor Gideon Henderson, much of the conversations focused on the need for a less opaque regulatory process and the desire for government to move at a pace that matches the speed of product innovation.
Here at twig we’re keen to support the new Government in the design and implementation of policy that promotes growth and look forward to continuing conversations in the months ahead.
