We’re incredibly pleased to announce that twig has won our second Smart Grant of 2025! As ever, competition for this award was extremely tough, with under 3% of applicants receiving funding. Our ~£430,000 project is focused on making circularity a reality. We’ve teamed up with Tate & Lyle Sugars to turn their low-value sugar waste streams into sustainable feedstocks for biofermentation, starting with fatty acids.
We all consume fatty acids everyday, whether in soaps, moisturisers, chocolate bars or meals, so finding a more sustainable way to produce them has huge benefits.
