Twig raises £3M to accelerate bioengineered ingredients that don’t cost the earth

Today, twig emerges from stealth with £3M in funding from Project A, Seedcamp, Zero Carbon Capital, UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund, Gaingels and several expert angels, rolled up through HackCapital.

Twig has built its tech pillars to create AI defined bioengineered ingredients that don’t cost the earth.  Combining high throughput wet-lab experiments, machine learning and a systematic approach to de-risk R&D spend, twig will get sustainable ingredients into products faster than ever before.  It is bioengineering, better.

The founding team, Russ, James and Satnam, bring together their commercial, scientific and technical expertise to provide a fully rounded solution for the market.

The team is based in King’s Cross, London, has grown to a team of nine and has already tested thousands of strains through their automated platform in just five short months in the lab.
